There were several forms of the marriage in Bali, but that normally is known that is memadik or meminang and ngerangkat or selarian.

The form memadik was the marriage that was considered to be most respected both according to the Balinese tradition and according to the religion Hindu.

That did peminangan that was the male family or purusa that came to meet the family of the woman. This was done on the son's agreement of the daughter of the two sides namely the side pradhana (the female side) and the side purusa (the men side).
