Every country in the world tries hard to attract as many foreign tourists as it can to visit the places of interest worth visiting. Foreign tourists are persons who come from abroad and will be beneficial to the country's economic situation. One important thing that shouldn't be forgotten is accommodation.
Many hotels offer good facilities, such as modern rooms comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated, swimming pools and free parking. Some hotels even had restaurants and meeting rooms. Modern hotels furnish wall-to-wall carpeting, television, and a telephone in every room. Most rooms also have the bathrooms, desks, comfortable chairs, and modern furniture that in many cases combines a dresser, luggage rack, and television stand in one piece. Most rooms are furnished with one double bed, to accommodate one or two people. Many rooms have two double beds, so that children may sleep in the same room with their parents. Groups of connecting rooms, called suites, are used when several people travel together. Business executives for meeting or reception also use suites.

Hotels sell a service, not a product. The quality of the service they offer often determines not only the prices they charge but also the success or failure of the business. A hungry guest in a large hotel may choose between a fast snack in the coffee shop or a more leisurely meal in a restaurant. Or this traveller may telephone room service and order food sent to the room. People who arrive with wrinkled or soiled clothes may call for valet service and have the clothes picked up, cleaned, pressed, and delivered to the room. Larger hotels often have a variety of shops, such as barbershops, beauty parlours (salons), newsstand, and drugstores.
The tourist industry has created many jobs. Handicraft caters to the tourist industry.

There are some places of interest in Indonesia, Ujung Kulon, Tangkuban Perahu crater, Zoological garden, Botanical garden, Taman Safari in West Java, Dieng, the Borobudur Temple and the Prambanan Temple in Central Java, Bromo crater in East Java, Nusa Dua, Pantai kuta in Bali, lake Toba in Sumatra, Krakatau on an island in Sunda Strait, beaches of coral sea in North Sulawesi and Maluku.
The main islands are alike in many ways. All have colourful scenery and numerous places where visitors may swim on beaches of coral sand, take part in many other sports all year round, and watch dances. At the same time each island has its own special attractions.
